A private lesson
A private lesson is a one-to-one meeting with a specific student. It belongs to a single student, uses one private credit, runs about 50 minutes (a trial about 25) and can carry vocabulary and homework for that session.

A group event
A group event belongs to a group rather than to one student. You open it, students see it on the events page with topic and level, it is capped by group size, and it charges one group entry from each active participant.

Blocked time is not a lesson
Blocked time is a personal calendar entry: no student, no video link and no charge. Its only job is to hide the slot from students so nobody books it.
Hemy tip: If one student asked for an extra session, open a private lesson. If you want an open themed session for several students, open a group event.
